Making Your Appointment

I currently practice out of two offices, in Los Angeles and in Redondo Beach. One can set up an appointment through myself or my assistant, Breanna, who can be reached at (310) 582-5252. The wait time for an appointment is usually anywhere from 1-3 weeks.

The initial evaluation is 75 to 90 minutes in duration. The purpose of the initial evaluation is for me to obtain an in depth history, generate an initial diagnostic impression, and determine a mutually agreed upon treatment plan. After the initial evaluation, I will collaborate with any other therapists or physicians who are involved in the patient's care. I may also refer you for a medical evaluation, or to check blood work and urine after the initial evaluation.

Treatment

Subsequent medication management appointments occur at a frequency of anywhere from weekly to monthly, and are 25 minutes in duration. Psychotherapy appointments occur a frequency of one to two times per week, and are 45-50 minutes in duration. I also provide outpatient detoxification services when medically appropriate and clinically safe.

All sessions occur on a private, one on one basis, unless otherwise agreed upon. I maintain strict patient confidentiality, with the exception of a limited number of emergency circumstances.

Payment and Insurance

Dr. Finklestein is not an in-network provider for any insurance at this time and is considered an “out of network” provider for all PPOs. Fees must be paid in full at the time of service.  A detailed receipt (a.k.a. "superbill") can then be provided which patients may submit to their insurance company or health savings account for direct reimbursement.  Many patients have a 'PPO' or similar plan and are able to get significant reimbursement back by submitting the superbill to their insurance provider.  Please note that individual plans vary widely and it is recommended that patients check with their insurance plan to obtain specific information about services covered, deductibles, and reimbursement options. This practice has chosen not to accept insurance in order to be able to tailor treatment to each patient’s needs, rather than by what insurance providers allow.

Cancellation Policy

48 hour notification is required for cancellation. If an appointment is not cancelled 24 hours in advance, patient will be charged in full for missed appointment. We understand occasion can arise when an appointment must be missed due to emergencies or other obligations and can consider other options for missed appointment.

Cash, check, Venmo and all major credit cards are acceptable methods of payment.

Please call the office for current fees and availability.
